Among the Erasmus+ activities, the most prestigious is undoubtedly the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree, which aims to promote excellence and internationalisation of European universities by creating joint Master’s programmes with the participation of qualified students from all over the world. These programmes, based on the creation of international consortiums of partner universities, are highly integrated, allowing students participating in such programmes to obtain diplomas from several universities simultaneously.
Tuition, accommodation, and travel for students in such a programme are free (covered by scholarships), and students must study at several universities over two years of Master’s study (in the MATHS-DISC project, at three universities, spending at least one semester at each).
Igor Sikorsky KPI has never received a grant to participate in a project under this programme before.
Moreover, according to the Erasmus Mundus Catalogue of projects[1], only one Ukrainian university, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, has participated in a project under the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree programme.
At the individual level, Ukrainian students have already participated in such joint Master’s programmes. According to the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, as of June 2024, 465 Ukrainian students have studied or are currently studying under the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree programme since 2014[2].
