Admission to postgraduate studies

Persons who have obtained a master's (specialist's) degree are admitted to postgraduate studies on a competitive basis. Persons who have timely submitted all the documents required for admission in accordance with the University's admission rules are admitted to the entrance examinations. The Admissions Committee may refuse to allow a person to take the entrance examinations for postgraduate studies solely due to failure to submit the documents specified in the admission rules within the established time limit.

Documents for the postgraduate competition in 2024 will be accepted from 22 July 2024 to 26 August 2024 from 09:30 to 11:30 and from 14:00 to 17:00 (room 247 - 1 building).

In order to optimise the procedure for submitting documents and reduce time costs, the following schedule for submitting documents to postgraduate studies in the speciality 113 Applied Mathematics is proposed: from 05.08.24 to 09.08.24.

Entrance examinations to the University's postgraduate studies: 1. Persons entering postgraduate studies in a field of knowledge (speciality) other than the one specified in their Master's (Specialist's) degree are assigned additional entrance examinations. Additional entrance examinations are graded on a pass/fail scale. An applicant who has received a "fail" grade is not allowed to take the entrance examinations. 2. Entrance exam in the speciality (within the scope of the master's degree programme in the relevant speciality). 3. Entrance exam in a foreign language (at the choice of the Academic Council of the higher education institution (research institution) in the amount that corresponds to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). An applicant who has confirmed his/her level of knowledge, including English, with a valid TOEFL or International English Language Testing System certificate or a Cambridge English Language Assessment certificate (not lower than B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or a similar level) is exempt from taking the entrance exam in a foreign language. When determining the results of the competition, these certificates are equated to the results of the entrance exam in a foreign language with the highest score.
