Head of the Applied Mathematics Department Danylo Tavrov has been awarded the Certificate of Honour of the Academic Council of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in recognition of his professionalism, dedication, active involvement in organising and conducting student recruitment and outreach activities, and significant contribution to enhancing the University's reputation and attracting prospective students in 2026. The award was presented by Mykhailo Bezuhlyi, First Vice-Rector of the University.
The 2026 admissions campaign was among the most successful in the history of the Department of Applied Mathematics. A total of 109 first-year students were admitted, including 96 state-funded students and 13 self funded students. This was the largest incoming class since 2021, while the number of state-funded admissions set an all-time departmental record.
Notably, for the first time in its history, the Department received the maximum possible number of state-funded admission offers — 101, of which only five have declined. These results once again demonstrate the strong interest among prospective students in the Department's educational programmes.
The Department's students played a particularly important role in this achievement. They actively participated in numerous outreach and recruitment events, shared their personal experiences, and enthusiastically introduced prospective applicants to the opportunities offered by studying Applied Mathematics. Their commitment, combined with the quality of the Department's educational programmes and the collective efforts of its faculty and staff, contributed significantly to this success.
We warmly congratulate Danylo Tavrov on this well-deserved recognition and wish him continued success!
