On September 30, the Applied Mathematics Department once again welcomed Dave Morgan, founder and CEO of the U.S.-based company Simulmedia. The meeting was also attended by Head of the Department Danylo Tavrov, Professor Igor Orynyak, and Assistant Maksym Shchoholiev.

One of the main topics of the meeting was the further development of the English-language certificate programme Mathematical Methods of Machine Learning and Optimisation in Advertising Technology, created by the department in partnership with Simulmedia. In particular, the participants discussed the selection of visiting faculty who will teach individual courses within the programme, combining students’ academic training with the practical expertise of professionals from the international AdTech industry.

Another important outcome of the meeting was an agreement on a new cycle of Simulmedia Research Scholarships for students of the department. Following the successful launch of the programme in 2025, it will now be significantly expanded: the monthly scholarship amount will increase by 50%, and eligibility will be extended beyond master’s and PhD students to include undergraduate students as well. The programme will continue to support students actively engaged in research under the supervision of the department’s faculty.

The continued partnership with Simulmedia, spanning both education and research, provides our students with new opportunities to engage with contemporary applied problems, international expertise, and research activities while still pursuing their studies.
