On February 17, 2025, the traditional remote meeting took place, gathering guarantors of educational programmes, members of the working groups responsible for programme development, and student representatives of the department. Following the adoption of a new version of the List of Fields of Knowledge and Specialities for Higher and Professional Pre-Higher Education in Ukraine, the need arose to formally rename the educational programmes offered by the department. Alongside this formal renaming, it was decided to make certain updates to the content of the programmes as well.

During a Zoom conference, lecturers and students discussed proposed updates to the bachelor's educational and professional programme Machine Learning and Mathematical Modelling as well as to the corresponding master's educational and professional and educational and research programmes.

The meeting was attended by:

• Guarantor of the bachelor's programme, Associate Professor of the Applied Mathematics Department, Violeta Tretynyk;

• Guarantor of the master's educational and professional programme, Professor of the Applied Mathematics Department, Head of the Applied Mathematics Department, Oleg Chertov;

• Guarantor of the master's educational and scientific programme, Professor of the Applied Mathematics Department, Valerii Los;

• Academic Secretary of the Department, Danylo Tavrov;

• Professor of the Applied Mathematics Department, Igor Orynyak;

• Chair of the Student Council of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, bachelor’s student Valeriia Baranivska;

• Bachelor’s students: Maksym Shkarupylo and Andrii Bilych;

• Master’s students: Maksym Sokolnytskyi, Hlib Sinelnyk, Kyrylo Danylenko, and Mariia Pynda.

During the meeting, the department head and the guarantors of the two master's programmes shared ideas aimed at significantly enriching the content of these programmes. It was noted that the educational and scientific master's programme requires substantial revision in order to harmonise it with the programmes of partner universities involved in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters project Mathematical Modelling, Simulation and Data Science for Industrial and Societal Challenges, which is being implemented by our department. At the same time, the educational and professional master's programme should be strengthened with practically oriented courses that will support graduates in further advancing their careers in the field of machine learning.

Following the discussion, the following changes were approved:

• for the bachelor's educational and professional programme:

  • remove Data Visualisation from the list of mandatory courses;

  • move Introduction to Machine Learning from the 6th semester to the 5th semester;

• for the master's educational and scientific programme:
  • remove the following mandatory courses: Project Management, Generative Artificial Intelligence, and Natural Language Processing;

  • move Machine Learning from the 1st semester to the 2nd semester;

  • replace Startup Project Development with Innovation Management;

• for the master's educational and professional programme:

  • move Machine Learning from the 1st semester to the 2nd semester.
