  • About me

Why did you decide to become a teacher?

Both by education and preferences, I am a "pure" mathematician, a theoretical mathematician. So it was natural for me to choose one of two paths - either science or teaching. I was lucky enough to combine both.

Since when have you been working as a teacher at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute?

    Since 2014.

When did you become interested in math?

As long as I can remember.

What do you do in your free time, do you have any hobbies?

My lifelong passion is books. Different ones. I read binge.
I also love skiing very much. I've been skiing for over 30 years and enjoy it immensely.

If all the books in the world disappeared and you could keep only one copy, what would you choose?

    Probably some big encyclopedia.

Did you go in for sports?

In my school and student years, I was quite seriously involved in rhythmic gymnastics.
And for the last 30 years I have been skiing. However, not as a sport, but rather as a recreation and pleasure.

    Do you like to travel?

Yes, I do. Unfortunately, it happens much less often than I would like.

Do you have a favorite city from your travels, something that left an imprint on your memory?

    Probably the Alps. Austrian Tyrol.

If you caught a goldfish, what wishes would you make?

I am not at all original here. Health and happiness for myself and my loved ones. Peace and prosperity in Ukraine.

What did you want to become as a child?

You will laugh - a mathematician.

Please tell us about your family.

I studied with my future husband first in the same class and then in the same group at the university. And we have been together for 30 years. My son graduated from the Faculty of Cybernetics at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. My daughter is a graduate of the Kyiv Natural Science Lyceum, a champion of Ukraine in skiing at her age.

What qualities do you value in people and what do you dislike the most?

I value honesty, decency, kindness, intelligence and a sense of humor. I dislike the lack of these qualities.

Do you have any favorites among the students you teach?

Of course I do. I am a living person. I try not to let this interfere with my objective assessment of their knowledge. It doesn't always work out, but I do my best.

How do you take a break from students?

That's what hobbies are for - books, skiing, fitness.

    What do students lack?

A vision of their goal and direction. Most just go with the flow.
