Anastasiia Shpak, Class of 2015
During my studies at the Applied Mathematics Department, there was one course that I truly loved. Surprisingly, it wasn’t Mathematical Analysis, as one might expect, but Project Management. It was taught by Oleg Chertov, and I remember clearly how much I enjoyed it at the time! What made it especially engaging was the way Oleg presented it — everything he talked about was grounded in his own real-life experience.
After graduation, I spent 10 years working as a software developer. And finally, just a year ago, I became a project manager! That’s when I really felt like I had found my place. The skills I gained during that course turned out to be 100% essential for my new role. Strangely enough, that course turned out to be the most useful one for my future career.
I’m not sure if it’s still part of the curriculum, but it absolutely should be!
Sending warm greetings to all the professors who remember me — and special regards to Oleg Chertov, as well as congratulations to Danylo Tavrov on the new position!
